In 8 February there was an event in Brussels organised by the European Commission: the launch of the Onlife Manifesto. In this blog post you can read a personal account of that day, where the Philosophy of Information was mentioned and used a lot of times.
An der Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät II, Institut für Informatik, ist eine W3-Professur für Theoretische Informatik zum 01.10.2013 zu besetzen. Gesucht wird ein/e international ausgewiesene/r Expertin/Experte im Gebiet Logik in der Informatik. The Zukunftskolleg of the University of Konstanz is offering: up to fifteen ZIF Marie Curie 2-year Postdoctoral Fellowships in any discipline represented at the University of Konstanz (Salary Scale 13 TV-L).
Funded from the University's own Central Research Development Fund (CRDF) as well as from the Marie Curie COFUND fellowship program, the University of Bremen invites postdoctoral researchers (m/f) in the natural sciences, engineering, social sciences and humanities to apply for one of 13 Postdoctoral Fellowships A32/13 Early career postdoctoral researchers (m/f) (at most one year after having received their doctorate) are invited to apply for a temporary position for up to two years. Fellows (m/f) will be enabled to develop an independent research project and to write an application for subsequent third-party funding.
The Arts and Humanities Research Council invites applications for its fellowships for early career researchers. The scheme provides salary and associated costs for periods of six months to two years, to enable an individual researcher to work on a specified research project or programme. The early career route aims to support the career development of researchers and provide them with experience and mentoring.
The European Masters Programme in Society, Science and Technology (ESST) is sponsoring an award of 1,000 € for the best undergraduate paper or essay related to Science, Technology and Society (STS). Undergraduates of all fields studying at any European university are eligible to apply.
Papers or essays must be between 2,000 and 3,000 words on any topic that falls under the Science, Technology, Society agenda (for example, from environmental, ICT or innovation policy to the relationship between science, technology and gender) and must be written in English.
